The girliest vintage home you’ll ever see

White, girly, fringy, vintage-y. You could TOTALLY see Hollywood A-listers lounging and smoking in this living room. Photos courtesy of Redfin.com

This interior of this Rolling Meadows, Illinois home, built in 1967, is EXACTLY what I would imagine every famous Hollywood starlets’ home looked like. Or, as the real estate listing says,

Welcome to the world of mid-century modern. The cast of “Mad Men” would be right at home in this vintage, pristine home.

So let’s don our sheer pink nighties, fluffy mules, and take a trip back in time to the girliest home (and OMG, glittery pink bathroom!) I’ve ever seen.

Check out that vintage wall art!
Is that seriously vintage bakeware in the ovens? I love it.
I absolutely love that the white brick from the vintage fireplace wraps around one wall.
This bedroom makes me feel like you should always be in girly dresses, singing, and primping yourself before the floor to ceiling mirrors.
Pink bath fixtures, shiny wallpaper, glass jars full of powder puffs, and a glittery wall divider. Homies, meet the girliest-ass bathroom you'll ever see.
Finally, all starlets need to have a fancy outdoor patio on which to entertain guests while you have fancy cocktails.

Okay, so who’s with me in LOVING this girly vintage home? Or are you rolling your eyes and going, “Megan seriously!?”

Comments on The girliest vintage home you’ll ever see

  1. My current rental is pink, not of this quality but still two tone pink. All I can say, after drowing in two tone pink walls, pink tiles, pink carpets, pink kitchen benchtops, pink curtains is This house is Horrifying. I shall have pink nightmares after seeing this. I thought my little pink unit was bad enough!

  2. The kitchen and bathroom stepped out of my wet dreams (cuz I have wet dreams about girly, vintage rooms), I don’t live too far from this house, I wonder if they’d be willing to part with some of the furniture…

  3. No one else adores the wall art? I think that’s the only thing I like about this house… I’d be afraid to sit in it. But that wall. I want to paint murals on everything.

  4. This person obviously doesn’t have kids, pets, or ever go outdoors. How on earth could you ever keep that clean?! It would take a full time job just to keep the carpets that white!!!

    • From what I’ve come to learn about awesome time capsule homes like this is that it was probably lived in by a little old lady until she either died or couldn’t live alone anymore. So you’re probably right in a way!

  5. I grew up RIGHT by this house.. like BLOCKS away. There are so many houses like this around there. Not as many are like this throughout, most just have a parlor or a vintage kitchen. I love how this one went all out!

  6. A bigger question, for me, is WHO the heck gave negative reader feedback on offbeat real estate? [insert mad face]

    I LOVE offbeat real estate!

And, from the length of this comment chain, I say I’m not the only one! [insert sound of beating drum!]

    • Agreed! I love seeing various houses. Kinda a nice source for ideas for decorating my own home.

Granted, I couldn’t ever live in this home (I’m married to a mechanic who comes home covered in grease… white carpet wouldn’t stand a chance) but its still pretty nifty to see.

Please bring the real estate section back. <3

    • I just went back and re-read this post where we addressed the issue. Apparently a whopping THIRD of our readers didn’t like them. *Shakes my fist at a third of you*

BUT, ho ho! Ariel did say that we would cut back on them, and not cut them off completely. Maybe I’ll start sneaking one in every couple of months for that one third of you who are my peeps. 😉

  7. Wow…………I’m gay and have drag queen friends that are too butch for this place. Although the oval dusty rose chair in the bedroom gives me life……….
